It might be helpful for you to gather some information on your current circumstances before you contact us, such as information on your current income and expenditure, but don’t worry if you don’t have all that information, the main thing is to reach out.

 

 

What options are available to me if I am struggling to pay?

We know one size doesn’t fit all, so we will take your individual circumstances into account to find an appropriate support option for your account with us that is affordable and sustainable, we have a range of options that we can consider based on your circumstances:

  • Change the date you make payments
  • Change the frequency of your payments to accept more frequent payments to suit your circumstances, i.e. weekly payments.
  • Agree to accept lower payments for an agreed period.
  • Allow you to pay nothing for an agreed period.
  • Help you repay any arrears by agreeing a repayment plan
  • Spread the arrears over the remaining term of your mortgage.
  • Reduce or amend your interest.
  • Write off some or all of the balance.

MoneyHelper

MoneyHelper (previously known as the Money Advice Service) offers free information and impartial money advice. They can offer In-depth guides to help improve finances, have tools and calculators to help keep track and plan ahead and provide support over the phone by calling 0800 138 7777 and online.

StepChange

StepChange Debt Charity is a registered charity providing free, independent, advice and support. Their service is free and completely confidential, you can complete the process online or on the telephone by calling 0800 138 1111 or both.  They will review your circumstance and find a way to manage your debts.

Citizens Advice

The Citizens Advice service is an independent organisation that provides confidential information and advice to help people with legal, debt, housing and other problems. They can offer face-to-face support, telephone support, or online.

For telephone support you can call 0800 144 8848 in England, 0800 702 2020 in Wales, 0800 028 1456 in Scotland and 0800 915 4604 in Northern Ireland (adviceNI).
